Description:
Want to research endangered species in a truly remote and beautiful part of the Amazon Rainforest? GVI and its partner, the Ecuadorian Foundation for Integrated Education and Development (FUNEDESIN) have established an innovative education centre for students from local communities on the Napo River between the cities of Tena and Coca, in the eastern part of Ecuador. Expedition members work alongside students and teachers and receive on-site training to carry out a variety of projects involving scientific investigation and education. Rigorous training is provided to ensure a holistic understanding of the rainforest, with subjects including conservation, rainforest ecology, bird and mammal identification, bird call identification, amphibian and reptile studies, Teaching English as a Foreign Language and emergency first aid. Expedition members are needed for 5 or 10 weeks, internships are also available.

This is a unique opportunity to study rare and endangered species, work alongside the local community and experience life deep in the Amazon Rainforest as part of a research team. All training, food, accommodation and orientation included, as well as basic Spanish tuition intro to TEFL and a 3 night camping trip. Qualifications:
No experience is required as comprehensive training is given which includes both indoor lectures and field practical which will provide a baseline and holistic understanding of all aspects of the rainforest, on which to build throughout your stay.
