Teaching on top of the World: Nepal
Nepal
Description:
We have worked in Nepal since 1990 when we began to send volunteers to the magnificent Helambu region of Nepal to help rural schools in the area. During our time there we built a new school and have helped educate many hundreds of children from that region, one of whom is currently sponsored to attend university in the UK, learning skills to take back to his home village in Nepal! Currently we have projects in the Chuakot region of Nepal where volunteers are teaching in rural primary and secondary schools as well as projects in the historic city of Kathmandu. In Kathmadu we are currently working in several secondary schools including a school set up for street children and orphans. In addition to these projects we are also running business development projects working with women's groups.
