Volunteer Teaching in Haiti

Description: Responsibilities include working with children, preschool to Grade 6 (depending on the assignment), private tutoring for students who require homework assistance, ESL classes for children "Early Bird" and/or adults, and private music classes as well as computer classes for children and adults which includes the International Professional Secretary ( IPS ) Program, and the International Professional Travel Agent if applicable. The New Victorian School is inviting any one interested to correspond online with members of our Haitian American English Club. Such correspondence will help the members perfect their English writing.

Highlights: Individuals are given the opportunity to work in a small, private, Christian-oriented elementary school. Approved applicants receive a contract which includes a monthly stipend, a private room located on campus, board, medical insurance, utilities, cable, internet, laundry and maid service. Stipends can be supplemented by teaching additional ESL, short hand writing, professional business etiquette, Latin dance, computer reservation system, private music classes and others. Flexible individuals have a wonderful opportunity to gain experience in various ESL levels and different elementary classes from preschool to Grade 6. Last, they will have the pleasure of enjoying first-hand Haiti's rich culture.

Qualifications: Individuals interested in acquiring experience in education are welcome to apply. Applicants must either currently be in college or have a bachelor/masters degree. Preferably someone with teaching experience.
