Durations of Program: 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks and 9-12 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks

Description: Asia is the largest continent on Earth covering nearly 30% of its land mass. Asia is also the most populous continent on earth containing more than 60% of the world's population with over 4 billion inhabitants.

Overflowing with cultural and environmental diversity and a land literally breathing endless experiential opportunity. Experience thick wild rainforests in Thailand, bustling cities of China, Himalayan peaks in Nepal, and the beautiful coral reefs surrounding the Philippines. Within Asia we have many volunteer opportunities for you to take part in from environmental and wildlife projects in Thailand, street children and orphanage projects in the Philippines to health projects in India.

Volunteers will be able to engage in different projects about environmental conservation, education and English literacy, medical programs and community development.

In most cases volunteers are placed in local home-stays where they either have their own room or share with another volunteer. This way a portion of your volunteer fee goes back into the local economy, and you gain first-hand experience of true local family life.

Volunteer Projects and Opportunities in Asia

Highlights: Swim with Whale Sharks in the Philippines

Donsol, a village on the Luzon peninsula, is one of the best places in the world to swim with the largest fish in our seas. To swim with these gentle giants, which grow up to 18m in length, is an unbelievable experience and highly recommended if you have time to explore. Peak months to see these great fish are between February and March.

Scuba Diving on Manta Ray expeditions in Thailand

The best place to see these legendary 'devil fish' is the nutrient-rich waters of Koh Bon, an island north of Similan. Surround yourself with swirling mantas as they pass close by blocking the sunlight with their elegant mass. Best encounters are between November and April

Gir National Park in India

Gir is the only place left on the planet where the Asiatic Lion can be found. It is on the critically endangered list as there are only around 300 left. It is a fantastic opportunity to see these lions in their natural habitat.

Qualifications: Participants must possess enthusiasm and a willingness to learn about the environment and the people. Additionally, a love of working in the community and interacting with people is essential.
