Description:
The medical centre is a 20-minute bus ride from the city center. The program coordinates volunteer placements depending on the volunteer's goals and career aspirations. The staff at the medical centre is very accommodating and flexible, and they will do everything possible to make sure the volunteer's work is appropriate and meaningful.
Volunteers are provided the opportunity to work in virtually all areas of the medical centre, which includes: - Vaccination campaigns
- Pediatrics
- Obstetrics
- Emergency department
- Tuberculosis treatment
- Hospitalization care
- Motor stimulation and development
- Social services Typically, volunteers work from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday-Friday. A working knowledge of Spanish is necessary; if you feel your Spanish abilities need improvement; daily lessons are available through the organization according to your needs.

Eco-Volunteer UP Foundation is a non-profit organization which is recognized legally by Ecuadorian Government. The volunteer programs give support through volunteers to the many worthy programs, such as vulnerable orphanages, institutes for children with disabilities, street children, and local indigenous communities. The volunteer programs are located in and around Quito, the capital of Ecuador. Program locations include the cloud forest and its communities close to Quito, the Ecuadorian Amazon, the Galapagos Islands, and other important places around Ecuador and Peru. We offer volunteers real immersion in the various ecosystems, and real opportunities for learning and sharing the Ecuadorian cultures, costumes and traditions.
