Childcare Volunteering Program in Brazil
Brazil
Durations of Program: 1-2 weeks, 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks and 9-12 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 1-2 weeks
Dates: Visit our website for upcoming start dates
Description:
Working on this program, volunteers get the chance to get immersed into the lifestyle of one of Brazil's most beautiful parts of the country, whilst working with children from the ages of 4 and upwards. You will be concentrating on basic education, including literacy and math and also teaching English. For those volunteers with more advanced Portuguese, you may be teaching with more advanced children in maths, language and sciences. Classes are structured and interactive with lots of different activities for them to master. In addition to the enjoyment of volunteering on the program our location makes for wonderful opportunities to travel and explore Brazil. How this program makes a difference: With many rural families and children migrating each day to Brazil's urban areas, it means that schools quickly become overcrowded and the student/teacher ratio grows at an alarming rate. With volunteers helping out smaller groups of children with the basics of education, and also teaching English, the education in the region should improve. A substantial part of the fee goes towards the day-to-day running costs of the projects themselves throughout the year, including daily transport when needed, food subsidies and fruit for the children, educational materials for classes and painting and maintenance.

- Living and breathing Salvador - Teaching children - Vibrant Brazilian culture - Learning about Brazilian dance and cookery - World-famous Brazilian beaches - Amazing community interaction - Optional cultural workshops and excursions
