Description:
This volunteer position has to do with helping local community families with putting up forest gardens and coordinating with one of our school's environmental clubs in the province. Volunteers would have enough extra time to mix with the people and learn their culture.
Highlights:
Volunteers will go into local communities, meet the families involved in the project and will be involved in advising/giving them first hand information on the setting up, management and maintenance of forest gardens, visit our secondary and primary schools, coordinate their club activities. The club activities will demand a lot of creativity and self reliance from the volunteer.
Qualifications:
What we need in the first place is the will to work for humanity. For the Forest Gardens project we require a bachelors degree in environmental science or any related field and for the Schools environmental clubs, we will accept any person who is willing to work with young people in community schools. We think any one can serve provided they are interested. We can also offer some on the spot drilling for those who think they are not well equipped.

Cost Include Description:
We always think it is good to look for housing that will be comfortable to the volunteer but this actually depends on him/her. We will also be responsible for orientating volunteer on how things are done in the country and part of the fee we can use to prepare their work space and conditions.
Salary / Pay: We guarantee no stipend for volunteer but if there is any, they would be given.

Typical Volunteer: A typical volunteer at Green Cameroon is some one in a community that expects much from him in terms of experience.He/she is some one who is expected most of the times to use their initiative and intuition to come up with ideas and decisions. some one who has a people of reach culture with whom to mix and share and some one with plenty of extra time to socialize and learn. Our work hours are moderate and we very much welcome creative ideas mostly when it concerns growth.

Green Cameroon's Mission Statement: Green Cameroon was founded in 2003 by a mixed group of young people with the common dream of an organisation to take care of the many environmental problems we are facing in our communities with our main aim being the protection of the environment. Some of the problems include: (1) improper waste disposal (2) littering (3) bad and inefficient farming practices(4) deforestation and it's side effects and (5) lack of information on environmental issues. Green Cameroon is therefore a Community based environmental NGO With head quarters in Buea, Cameroon.
