Highlights:
The University of Adelaide is located in the cultural heart of Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia. All four of the University's campuses are located on the lands of the Kaurna People, the traditional owners for thousands of years prior to the beginning of European settlement in 1836. The city has welcomed migrants from all over the world and is characterized by a great diversity of cultural traditions, languages spoken (although English is the official language) and systems of belief. Its central location makes it an ideal gateway to explore South Australia's many attractions, from world-renowned wineries, beautiful hills and rugged coastlines to the Australian outback. The curriculum focus is aboriginal studies and immigrant issues. You will take 2 courses (earning 6-8 credits) and serve 12-15 hours per week in a local service agency that is focused on the needs of the indigenous populations. You will study at the University of Adelaide and live in a furnished apartment. Excursions include guided field trips to the outback (overnight), Kangaroo Island, Living Kaurna Cultural Center among other opportunities.
