Description:
The Chilean Ministry of Education is promoting the establishment of a programme devoted to improve English, French and German language teaching and learning at Chilean state schools by compensating the student's lack of exposure to native speakers and motivating them to speak English, French and German.
Highlights:
You will be assigned to different schools throughout the country. With the guidance of Chilean EFL teachers, you will lead classes as well as extracurricular activities that focus on developing English, French and German oral skills. You will create new opportunities for students to use these languages in everyday situations, motivating them to lose their fear of speaking a foreign language. Please note that your work will not replace the teacher's work, but rather assist them by encouraging students to learn the language in an interactive way.
Qualifications:
- Age range: 21 to 50 years old at the moment of application. Participant 50+ will be considered on strength of application. - Native English, French or German speakers or use it in your everyday language. - You should have received your K-12 or undergraduate education in English, French or German - Undergraduate degree - Basic understanding of Spanish - You don't necessarily need extensive teaching training or experience for this position. - Mentally and physically capable of teaching children - Living experience or travelling in another country, preferably in the developing world - Interest in the Chilean culture - You should be highly committed, responsible, flexible and with possess a spirit of public service.
