Animal Protection Project in South Africa
South Africa
- Cape Town:
Cape Town (Kaapstad)
Durations of Program: 1-2 weeks, 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks and 9-12 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 9-12 weeks
Description:
Most of the animals in the reserve were rescued, found as orphans or confiscated due to bad treatment. The organization is one of the few which raises their animals by hand. You will get the unique chance to feed lion babies with a bottle or to bath a tiger. The nature reserve wants to sensitize the population regarding the animal kingdom. You can therefore teach school classes about nature protection and animal conservation. The reserve contributes a lot to the protection of endangered animals like the Ocelot or the Lemur. Accommodation and Meals: You will be accommodated in a private guesthouse or bed&breakfast and will receive three meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) every day. In those guesthouses you will usually live and eat with a host family. Hence you will get an immediate insight into the eating habits and traditions of the local population.
