Description: ICYE-UK is offering a Youth In Action funded voluntary placement for 12 months, working with a community outreach project in Moldova.

The project seeks to promote HIV/AIDS education and awareness, with particular emphasis on vulnerable groups and the Roma community. There is additional focus on substance abuse prevention, as well as reproductive health education.

The successful volunteer will assist in designing a social support program for people living with HIV/AIDS, as well as providing outreach support for marginalized members of the Roma community. Activities include preparing information for education programs focusing on HIV/AIDS, reproductive health and substance abuse. Outreach work will involve preparing information materials and presentations providing support to the local Roma community, as well as conducting research to find out more about their needs. There will also be opportunities to organize cultural excursions for service users.   

This project would suit those with an interest in HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, and who are also interested in working with young people and vulnerable groups.

Highlights: The placement is for 12 months. Full training and support will be provided, including Romanian and Russian language lessons.

Qualifications: To apply for this placement, you must be between 18-30 years old, and a citizen of an EU member country.
