With Xi'an's world-famous cultural gems to explore outside your door, you'll enjoy rewarding days teaching at one of the city's prestigious universities, where you'll hold classes with students majoring in English or other subjects. Although your students will be able to manage a high level of English, they rarely have the chance to talk with a native speaker. This is a great opportunity for cultural exchange; for your students to put their English skills to the test and for you to gain a deeper understanding of the fascinating Chinese culture.

Qualifications: The skills you need

As a teacher you need to be someone who can think on your feet, be dynamic and use your initiative and imagination. You need to be confident, resourceful and thrive under a challenge! You also need to enjoy working with young people and be keen to exchange ideas, foster friendships and learn about a new culture.

Cost in US$: USD 2,195.00 for 4 weeks, USD 220.00 for every week thereafter

* Accommodation: Shared dormitory room in volunteer apartment
* Food: Self catering. 3 meals a day, breakfast and dinner at the volunteer apartment, lunch at the project or volunteer apartment
