Description: Spend some time with the elderly in Goa and you will hear incredible eye witness accounts of some of the great events in Indian history. Who is a better of source for the inside scoop into authentic Indian culture than those who have lived it for decades? You will be entertaining the elderly with music, dance, games, walks etc. You can help them keep in touch with relatives and friends by writing letters. This is a great way to climb into the mindset of Indians and gain a unique understanding of how the Indian diaspora is affecting society at home.

What the project does and why it needs you!
For 25 years the Kristraj Bhavan Home for the Aged has been providing invaluable services to the elderly in the community. The home was started by missionaries with the goal of caring for and enriching the lives of elderly who can not look after themselves. They also emphasize the importance of showing their residents respect by giving them both freedom and privacy. With a limited staff the Home for the Aged needs volunteers to help brighten up the days of their residents.

Qualifications: Who is it for?
This project is for anyone who is interested in learning about Indian culture and sharing stories with a friendly bunch of wise men.

What you'll be doing:
Your main task will be to entertain the residents. You may be singing, dancing, playing games, walking around the neighborhood, reading aloud, writing letter, etc. Any games or activities that you would like to introduce are welcome. You will be working from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Cost in US$: USD 1095.00 for 2 weeks, USD 220.00 for every week thereafter
