Durations of Program: 1-2 weeks, 2-4 weeks and 5-8 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Description:
We welcome anyone who would like to experience a beautiful lifestyle. In our Eco conscious community, you will learn about hatha yoga, meditation, vegetarian cooking, organic agriculture, eco building, different kinds of art and life philosophy or the Vedas. We welcome everyone who wants to expend their awareness. You can also participate in our workshops and use your creativity, know local people, as well as make new friends who speak different languages, and also you will have an experience of a lifetime. Usually, the minimum time commitment for volunteers is one month, as it is costly for us to train and provide services for new volunteers. However, some of our volunteers can only stay for a few weeks, and as we understand that people may be time limited we do accept shorter stays (minimum ten days) on a person by person basis. Above this, volunteers can stay at Eco Truly for as long as they wish. To get the most out of their experience, we estimate interns will want to commit themselves to volunteering for at least 4 hours per day. Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to join us - the only requirement is that you are enthusiastic about working with our community. Our basic accommodations are separate shared rooms for men and women. If you would prefer a separate, individual room in our hostel, we can provide that service for a slight cost.
Highlights:
Activities in our Eco Village We have a number of workshops that you can take advantage of including yoga, and Vedic philosophy. Helping in our Art Workshop Taller You are also more than welcome to help out in our kitchen, vegetarian restaurant or bakery (operational 2 days a week). If you are willing to get dirty, you are can work in our organic farm with our bio-dynamic agronomist who also imparts theoretical and practical classes on organic agriculture, preparation of humus, and composting. More than anything we hope that you make new friends, and have the experience of a lifetime. Eco Truly Park is a beautiful ecological and artistic community founded on Vaisnava principles on the Pacific coast of Peru, strategically located on Chacra y Mar beach, in the province of Huaral, one hour by bus or car (63 km) north of the capital city, Lima.
We live together according to principles of non-violence, simple living and elevated thinking, and visitors can learn and experience how it is possible to live happily in harmony with nature, others, and themselves. We are looking for people who are open-minded and want to practice tolerance, compassion and patience. The architecture and values of the community are in part inspired by Indian traditional teachings and lifestyle. The community is located at 2.5 m above sea level and previously consisted of sandy, unworkable land, but in the last 18 years we have developed a unique ecological program run by an increasing number of residents and volunteers, with the goal of becoming fully sustainable and self-sufficient. Today, our community is visited by people from Lima and all over the world, who are able to experience an alternative way of life whilst staying at Eco Truly Park. Due to this influx of visitors, the surrounding area of Huaral has been positively influenced in terms of the development of ecological consciousness. According to recent professional studies, Eco Truly Park programs have become a model of sustainable alternative solutions for the extreme poverty that still affects more than half of Peruvian citizens (over 14 million people) living in rural and marginalized urban villages. Nowadays, Eco Truly Park is recognized as an important tourist destination by local government and the Peruvian media, having received over 75,000 visitors since its inception. "Simple living, high thinking" It was what Gandhi said. You will live with friendly people, organic vegetarian meals, educative activities and we request a donation to cover the cost to host you like you deserve! We invite you to share an experience that will positive influence your life.
