Description: This program is ideal for volunteers who want to teach physical education, but are also interested in becoming involved in program and community development. This project is specifically designed to give volunteers who have a background and/or passion in sports education the unique opportunity to help construct and run a program for a low-resourced community in Peru. There may not always be resources and supplies available so it is necessary to give help from volunteers that have a proactive attitude with a positive and creative mind. The volunteer's role is to get children from the community involved in physical education through various activities and workshops. This project is specifically designed to give volunteers who have a background and/or passion in sports education the unique opportunity to help construct and run a program for a low-resourced community in Peru.

Highlights: Urubamba is located in the heart of the sacred valley of the Andes Mountains. The area has a desirable climate which produces enormous amounts of fruits. Urubamba is only an hour away from Cusco, and is the Inca City located in the Southern Sierras. Positioned in southeastern Peru only 80 km from Machu Picchu, it is known as the Archaeological Capital of the Americas. Cusco is the most visited city in Peru and is a must see. uVolunteer anticipates and encourages your desire for travel and adventure. Your time away from volunteering is open for you to decide your activities. You may take advantage of the local culture and spend time within the community over the weekend. Otherwise, there is ample opportunity to explore Peru and all it has to offer.

Qualifications: Language requirement is Intermediate Spanish. However, you can still join this project if your Spanish does not meet the requirements, by taking our Spanish language course. Must have basic knowledge in various sports.
