Neurological Institute Peru

Highlights: Following your arrival in Lima, you will receive your induction.
As you arrive at the airport in Lima, a transfer will be waiting to take you to your Peruvian Host family. The following morning, our local coordinator will collect you from your accommodation for the start of your induction.

The 3-day introduction to the country and your placement will help you settle into Peruvian life and will cover sessions on culture and customs, a walking tour of Lima, transportation to the projects and information for excursions to local places of interest.

If you would like to improve your language skills, Spanish courses are also available: 2 hours per day Monday to Friday. Courses start every Monday. You can either concentrate on studying Spanish before you start your volunteer placement, or you can combine the language course with your volunteering. Living with your host family, you will also receive breakfast and evening meals.

Irrespective of your level of experience of working with disabled children, there is a very valuable role for you to play at the Neurological center. Daily activities involve assisting with the children physical therapy, stimulation exercises, feeding and of course providing love and attention that is so vital in a child's early years.

Volunteers, who have specific experience and or qualifications in this field, are always welcomed to share their ideas and approach to develop the care provided to the children.

Qualifications: - Minimum age is 18 years old
