Highlights:
You will be working in a Eco Sustainable farm in Talamanca, Costa Rica. This farm is located in the Talamanca Mountains in the Limon province, on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica. Situated 5km from the town of Bribri, the farm is set in a secluded area amongst 10 to 15 other farms. The indigenous reserve that is homeland to the Bri Bri indigenous tribe is about 12km away and the town of Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is 10 KM away. uVolunteer believes that you should have a well balanced work and play schedule. This means you will only be required to work 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday) for a maximum of 6 hours per day. For the remainder of your time, you will be free to enjoy the vacationing aspects of your trip. uVolunteer anticipates and encourages your desire for travel and adventure. Your time away from volunteering is open for you to decide your activities. You may decide to take advantage of the local culture and spend time within the community over the weekend. Otherwise, there is ample opportunity to explore Costa Rica and all it has to offer. Places close to the farm: * Puerto Limon: Puerto Limon is the main city on the Atlantic coast of Costa Rica. This Caribbean city is the most sparsely populated, least economically developed and most culturally distinct of the seven provinces. Many tourists and locals say that traveling to Puerto Limon, Costa Rica is like entering another country. * Puerto Viejo: This wonderful beach town on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica holds many surprises. With its laid back attitude and Caribbean life style, you can be assured of a relaxing Costa Rican holiday. Naturally, for those of us who like a more active holiday, Puerto Viejo has it all. Long walks on pristine beaches, experiencing exotic flora and fauna in a wildlife refuge, snorkeling or diving among the many reefs in our crystal clear waters, world-class surfing, mountain biking, kayaking and cultural visits to indigenous peoples. Other weekend trips include: - Arenal Volcano National Park in La Fortuna - Poas Volcano National Park in Cartago - Canopy tours in Monteverde - Museums in San Jose - Rafting on the Pacuare River in Turriabla - Surfing in Jaco, Puerto Viejo, Tamarindo, and Montezuma.
