Description: Play a vital part in offering vulnerable children a brighter future, helping them find a place in society through education and empowerment.

India continues to struggles to provide care and education to the increasing number of children born into poverty. This often leaves them open to a variety of ills like malnutrition, illiteracy, abuse and neglect. Volunteer with disadvantaged children in India aims to provide welfare and education for the new generations, vital to the improvement and development of Indian society. The effects of doing this will be seen through all streams of society through increased harmony, social justice and equality.

The various Indian projects being supported by volunteers aim to create opportunities where unprivileged children from the fringes of society can have equal opportunity to grow. Volunteer with disadvantaged children in India projects have different aims such as:

* Overall development of street children regarding their education, heath and social awareness
* Rescue, rehabilitation and education of the rescued child labourers
* Working for education and the health of rag picking children
* Providing quality child care in slums with special focus on female children
* Teaching and assisting in primary schools of poor areas that lack facilities

Volunteering with children in India activities can be further summarised under the following sub headings:

* Child care & nutrition
* Educational activities
* Counselling, especially for child labourers & rag picking children
* Sports and recreational activities
* General awareness activities related to health, hygiene and environment
