Description:
Teaching English: In this program volunteers are placed in local schools to teach conversational English and reading classes to Nepali children. In Nepal, English is increasingly becoming a required skill for job placement, educational advancement, and future success. Class size can range from 10 to 80 students. School runs from Sunday to Friday with Saturday off. Students are between 4 and 16 years of age.

Living and working in Nepal is a fascinating experience! You will get the chance to be part of day-to-day life in this ancient and mystical country. You will be close to some of the world's best treks, and the Katmandu valley - with its wonderful historic towns and temples. Our projects all work with indigenous people to help them promote their skills and knowledge. Our program are not linked with any religious or political movement.
Qualifications:
To teach English at a Nepali school you aren't required to have formal teaching qualifications, just a good command of written and spoken English, and plenty of enthusiasm and a lot of patience.

Cost Include Description:
A USD 450 application fee (non-refundable, if you decide not to go) will secure your place on the program. Your program fee is due in full eight weeks before you begin your placement. You only pay your application fee once, then you can access any of MICATZ' volunteer programs over the next 4 years. What do my fees pay for? * Registration Fee (non-refundable, if you choose not to go) - 24/7 support from MICA' staff, - Nepalese language lesson, - program marketing costs, - information pack, - administration costs, - travel costs to inspect programs, and - communication costs with volunteers. * Program Fee - Airport pick up, - orientation, - program supervision, - accommodation and meals during volunteer placement period, - In-country 24/7 support, and In-country administration costs.

Our volunteers are active community workers. They support the programs and activities of partner organizations by undertaking a variety of jobs and responsibilities such as working in orphanages, teaching English in Primary schools and in Secondary Schools, Teaching life skills, working as community health workers or assisting administratively.
