The Intl Internship & Volunteer Network (IIVN) helps undergrad & graduate students identify, develop and prepare for an international volunteer, internship or premed opportunity that will strengthen their professional experience, make them more competitive in the academic & professional world and prepare them for their future. We offer valuable development opportunities and personal consultations with our expert staff, in addition to customized programs. We also assist individuals who are just entering, or have been out in the work force for a while, explore career options in their field of interest, as well as those having a strong desire to contribute to the betterment of society and help those less fortunate. IIVN provides an opportunity for individuals to expand their mind and further develop their multicultural understanding. Prague, the beautiful capital of the Czech Republic, remains one of the most popular destinations to visit and participate in a Professional Internship program. Recognized as the heart of the Czech Republic, Prague is the political, economic and cultural center of the state, home to the president, government and parliament residences. It is the center of academic and vocational education, the seat of the Academy of Sciences and of a number of other research and scientific institutes. It is a significant European cultural center, which includes a number of theatres, museums, galleries and exhibition halls. Since its beginnings, Prague has always played an important role in the history of the nation, the country and Europe. It has been recognized as one of the most beautiful cities of the world, and has been attributed adjectives such as "golden", "hundred-spired", "the crown of the world" and "a stone dream". Prague represents a unique collection of historical monuments dominated by the Prague Castle which towers high above the city. It is a display of all artistic styles and movements. The historic town center has been included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Scientific Heritage list since 1992. We are proud to offer an array of placement opportunities in a variety of fields, including law firms, consulting firms, management consulting agencies, hotels, non-profit agencies and many more. The majority of our host employers in Prague are International Corporations, however, we also boast a respectable list of Czech firms, to meet our participant's needs. Following is an example of placement opportunities available. Should you not find your field of interest noted, feel free to contact us to discuss the possibility of securing something in your area of interest. * Holmes Place An international health club that caters to high class members. Interns work directly with the General Manager and Director of Legal /HR on various high level projects including customer service, customer satisfaction, marketing and human resources. Holmes Place offers Interns complimentary use of their health club facilities during their program! * Although all placements with Holmes Place are unpaid opportunities, they do offer an annual PAID program for a limited amount of participants. Kines Law Firm & Randa Havel Legal General legal work on all English language projects and cases. Liberal Institute Economic think tank, mainly research and publishing project work with the Director of the Institute. Highly independent work, intern has own office and computer. Odyssey Consulting Intern will work with two senior consultants on team building exercises with existing clients. High level coaching and major work on management skill building. Mostly off-site (not an office setting, very dynamic). Ernst & Young Financial Consulting and Accounting Sue Ryder Charity Intern will work with the Director of International Offices on marketing for Albania and Macedonia. Four Seasons Hotel Opportunities to assist in Finance and Customer Loyalty. Interns will work with the Hotel manager on a variety of different projects. Other areas can be developed as well according to the intern's wishes and interests. ExPats.CZ General Management, Marketing and IT Co-Dan Agency Creating, updating and editing database with information (text, pictures), creating marketing materials based on the information from the database (hotel descriptions, restaurants offer, guided tours,) and assisting clients with travel arrangements and other projects. Prague Review A literary journal offering opportunities in writing and editing.
Qualifications:
Applicants for each program must: Be at least 18+ years of age by start date of program; Present current Resume or Curriculum Vitae, Statement of Purpose and two (2) Referrals for program participation; Internship candidates must be currently enrolled in, or a graduate of, an approved higher education institution; Internship candidates may be required to present a Transcript or Certificate of study related to the occupational category they are applying for; Volunteer candidates must have a strong desire to contribute to the betterment of society and help those less fortunate, including women, children, the homeless and ailing; All participants must speak fluent English and in some cases have an intermediate+ level of language proficiency of the host country they desire to visit. Depending on the type of placement secured, it may be required that participants possess an advanced reading, writing and/or conversation level of the relevant language. Participants must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, dependable, flexible, open-minded and eager to experience new cultures; be committed to the duration of the project selected; Have a valid e-mail address throughout their program. Applicants must be aware that the programs are a personal & professional growth/training experience that will be useful for future development, and their placement may not be at a managerial or senior level. Participants should not try to use their program participation as a step to getting hired permanently by the host employer/association, as this may lead to disappointment and may violate government regulations.

All IIVN Program Fees are calculated to provide participants with the highest level of quality and service and include the following: All Program Application Fees; Preferred Placement Matching; Customized & Professional Program Development - taking into consideration each participant's personal goals, experience and qualifications, in addition to the Host Employer/Association needs; Confirmed Program Placement - prior to departure; Pre-Departure Materials - including detailed Participant Handbook outlining important International Travel & Program Information; Project Training & Materials (where applicable) - while experience is always helpful, it is not necessary to participate in all of our programs; Arrival Orientation duration & content will vary based on country & program selected; Academic Credit (based on educational institutions discretion); Embassy Registration, Local Program Supervision, Emergency Service and Participant Support; Passport, Visa & International Travel/Medical Insurance guidance; Airport Transfers upon arrival/departure; Certificate of Completion. *Accommodations: Housing options vary based on country and program selected. In the event housing is not included in your preferred program, we are happy to provide resources and recommendations for options that are affordable, safe and convenient to your placement location. *Meals: One to two meals per day are offered in select programs. The number of meals offered varies based on country and project selected. In the event your preferred program does not include meals, we are happy to prepare you with budget guidelines to ensure you plan appropriately. *Ground Transportation: Ground transportation to/from the airport/housing of your host country is offered to all participants. Ground transportation to/from planned social activities and sightseeing will vary based on country and project selected. Transportation resources and costs will be provided to ensure you budget accordingly.
