Description: Join a Patagonian wilderness research expedition in Argentina and experience the true wilds of this stunning and unique region. Learn how to survive in the Patagonia and conduct valuable wildlife research. From lush mountain forests, rugged steppes, snow-capped mountains to impressive volcanoes, we'll experience it all!

Ever dreamt of hiking through the Patagonian Wilderness as stunning condors soar in the skies above your head? Ever wanted to live in a spectacular and wild mountainous environment as you volunteer towards critical environmental conservation research and work as a valued member of a wilderness expedition? By volunteering on this Patagonian Wilderness Research Expedition, you have the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals towards the conservation of the stunning Patagonian wilderness!

Patagonia is one of the worlds most spectacular environments. Its an incredible exciting, rare and special place boasting some of the planets most spectacular glaciers, snow-capped mountains and precious forests. Its fantastically diverse with its wide open plains and mountain ranges and unique and beautiful wildlife such as HuiƱa cats, condors, wild boar and even puma! Its the uniqueness of these contrasting environments that makes it such a fantastic place to volunteer.

Well aim to raise awareness about the preservation and conservation of Patagonias highly diverse, unique, sensitive and threatened habitats, whilst also getting the opportunity to gain wilderness skills and live in the wilds of Patagonia. As this programme works side by side with local, national and international partners, all the research collected will go directly towards the conservation of the stunning Patagonian wilderness. Along with striving forward with the research, well be trained and equipped with all of the necessary skills and knowledge needed in order to live in such a remote and wild environment. Well be taught core wilderness principles and quickly become competent to explore our stunning new surroundings!

Patagonian Wilderness Research Expedition

Qualifications: No previous mountaineering experience or foreign language skills are necessary. However, volunteers must be physically fit and in good health; capable of walking for up to several hours daily, carrying packs weighing up to 25 kg over tough terrain. They must be prepared for a challenge for some arduous trekking through the range of extreme climates, environments and landscapes found in the heart of Patagonia. Volunteers must also be 18 years of age or older and speak English. Additionally everyone must be able to work as part of a team and have a strong interest in wildlife and conservation. Participants must also be enthusiastic, adventurous, open minded about living in the outdoor wilderness, have a good sense of humour and be respectful of the host countrys environment and cultures.
