Description: ELEP is a local organization based in Ecuador whose goal is to provide volunteers with a customized program that will enable them to make an important contribution to the people of Ecuador. We provide lifechanging volunteer work at orphanages across Ecuador.

Orphanages in Ecuador provide orphans with daily meals, a bed and schooling, but they need people to give them attention, time and love. Many of the orphans have come from homes of domestic violence or have been abandoned as well as kids with one or both parents dead. If you can give support and positive direction to boys and girls - from babies to teens - and spend time playing with them, getting them ready for school, helping to cook meals and snacks for them, help them with their homework and such like. If you can act as a mentor, role - model and parent figure for these kids, most of whom have never known their natural parents then this project is for you! Volunteers are the heart of orphanages in Ecuador.

The help of international volunteers is greatly needed and appreciated. Volunteering in Ecuador on our orphanage support program is the best travel experience you can have since you would be making a difference in an unfortunate childs life in the orphanage. Volunteering with children in an orphanage is the most rewarding experience for volunteers.   

* Volunteer Responsibilities:
Depending on your own skills and interests, you are free to help the children with daily care, feeding, playing games, education, teaching English and helping with their homework, read stories, teach songs, organizing activities like sports, clothing, change diapers, help them with their wash and take them for outings, spend quality time with the children and assisting the local staff with repairs and upkeep the facilities, etc.

The goal of our orphanages volunteering programs is to provide these children with affection, help them to improve their self esteem, support, and a decent life in the hopes of helping them to become responsible citizens.   

Volunteers will collaborate at the orphanages from Monday through Friday and 25 - 30 hours per week.

* Requirements:
No specific qualifications are required to join our Orphanage Volunteering Programs in Ecuador. However, interested individuals should have a passion and eagerness to help underprivileged children. Volunteers must love children and enjoy working with them.

* Location:
The program takes place across Ecuador in Quito. Otavalo, Ambato, Latacunga, Cuenca, Santo Domingo, Guayaquil, Bahía de Caraquez, etc.

* Airport Pick up and Transfer
A representative of ELEP will greet you at the airport and will transfer you to your home stay.

* Accommodation and Meals:
Local accommodation is included, generally with host families. By staying with a welcoming host family you are treated as a family member and will feel like at home. Besides, you can learn about the culture first hand. Our accommodation program is organized to have a rewarding home stay.

Your family will provide you with 3 meals from Monday to Saturday and 2 on Sundays either for vegetarian or not.

* Date, Duration and Application Deadline;
Our project runs year-round for 2 - 12 weeks in length and volunteers may choose their own start dates. Applications are due at least 4 weeks prior to departure.

* In-Country Support:
Our international volunteers will benefit from a comprehensive support network in Ecuador.

* Orientation:
A half day orientation will be provided by our staff where you will learn about the following issues: transportation, commercial and cultural places, locations, food, etc.
