Description: Teaching is a challenging and highly rewarding occupation that assists in shaping the future of many lives. This is especially true in Peru where students are eager to learn and broaden their prospects.Huaraz in particular is a popular destination for tourists who utilize the Andean city as a base for trekking, mountaineering and outdoor activities in the Cordillera Blanca and Callejón de Huaylas. Local students consider English as a gateway into the tourism industry and also as an opportunity to maximize their future potential.

Volunteering with Teach Huaraz Peru will allow you to immerse within Peruvian life in a way that is unavailable to passing travelers. You will soon find yourself recognizing people wherever you go and being invited to special occasions and celebrations as an integral member of the community

Volunteer support is greatly appreciated at these centers within and around Huaraz to help teach English, improve conversational skills and share information about different countries and cultures. It is possible for you to work as many hours as you like within numerous centers and really benefit from your volunteering experience.

Qualifications: At Teach Huaraz Peru we believe that almost every English speaker aged 18 years and above can make a worthwhile contribution and greatly benefit from volunteering with us in Peru.

Cost in US$: USD 200 above

Homestay Accommodation with the Delgado Family, USD 80 per week or USD 300 per month
Includes:
* Private bedroom and bathroom, with hot water
* 3 meals a day shared with the family (all dietary requirements are well catered for, including for vegetarians and vegans) or the option to prepare your own meals in a separate kitchen at a reduced fee
* Laundry facilities
* Shopping service for personal items, such as toilet paper, laundry detergent, toothpaste etc
* Opportunity to become an integral part of Peruvian family life
