Description:
Casa do Caminho is situated in the middle of a rainforest, outside of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The orphanage aims to take children away from aggression, drugs & criminality in Rio and surrounding suburbs. It provides these children with shelter, nutrition, education and a lot of freedom to play. Your help is needed because international volunteers bring new knowledge and enthusiasm to Casa do Caminho from which the children and staff can learn! Visa Requirements: In Brazil, for most nationalities, a tourist visa is issued for three months and can be extended for free for an extra three months by going to the Federal Police closest to you when it is near to expiration. It depends on your nationality whether you need to get the visa issued before you leave or whether you can get it at the airport. According to the rules of a tourist visa, you must leave Brazil after 6 months and cannot re-enter until 6 months have passed.

The volunteer program of Casa do Caminho provides a 100% free volunteer environment in which the volunteer has the opportunity to make a meaningful commitment to the project. All volunteers take on the responsibilities of full-time staff members, which requires hard work but also provides the opportunity to develop existing and new skills and take on leadership roles. Casa do Caminho also provides a unique cultural experience, as volunteers have the opportunity not only to get to know Brazilian culture but also to share their experience with fifteen other volunteers from all parts of the world. Volunteering with us is 100% free!

Qualifications:
