Australia working holiday and Outback ranch stay
Australia
Duration of Program: 1-2 years
Description:
Okay, three quick yes or no questions. Ever seen a real dinosaur footprint? How about explored ancient aboriginal carvings? Lastly, ever known your closest workmates to be a couple of cows and a few sheep? No's all around? Then join the Outback Ranch stay during a Working Holiday in Australia! It's your chance to spend up to 52 weeks exploring everything you could dream of overseas & tourism, working, volunteering and pristine beaches! We'll give you all the support you need and you'll get to experience the true outback as you work right on the ranch for 7 days! So get that cowboy hat ready and jump on the saddle! It's time to live it up like a real Jackaroo! Yeeeeee-haw! What you'll be doing: After getting help to settle in and being given all the tools you need to have a great working holiday in Australia you'll soon be having the time of your life working in Sydney. You can decide to take your week in the outback whenever you please. You can head to the outback right after your week in Sydney, as a break from your working holiday or even at the end of your time in Australia, it's up to you! Getting a job: At your orientation we'll help you sort out important stuff like bank accounts and tax file numbers. You will also be able to use the mail holding service so you can start getting postcards right away from jealous friends and family back home. You'll have 12 months of priority access to thousands of job offers, all over Australia. In a one-on-one consultation with a Travelers at Work job specialist, you will get help with your resume and advice on how to organize interviews to get you that first job fast! Jackaroo/Jillaroo ranch experience: Experience Australia's outback lifestyle by training as a ranch hand on a busy cattle and sheep station. Have a once in a lifetime experience and make great new friends while learning cool new skills on the ranch! You will even get a certificate upon completion of the experience that you could use to help you get a job working on a ranch in the outback! Day 1: Bingara Today you will travel from Sydney to Binagara. You will spend the night in a dorm-style hostel. Breakfast is included. Day 2 to 6: Jackaroo/Jillaroo school For the next 5 days you will be learning everything and anything outback related! You will get involved in all kinds of activities such as horse riding, yard work, calf throwing, fencing and yard building, whip cracking and roping, and sheep shearing. Your nights will be filled with star-gazing, quality conversation and air so fresh you'll enjoy every breath. You will be staying with a friendly family in a classic homestead cottage. The authentic farmhouse has a kitchen, separate showers and toilets, lounge room with TV, three bedrooms and wide open verandas. All your meals while at the farm are included. Day 7: Bingara Today you will travel back from the farm to Bingara for your farewell dinner (the cost of dinner is not included). Kick back, relax and enjoy a drink with the locals. The transfer back to Sydney is not included in the tour fee. Where you'll be staying: You'll spend your first week after arrival in Sydney at a funky hostel in the center of the city. You'll get breakfast daily and will be just minutes from everything that Sydney has to offer. You can stay in one of the cool converted railway carriages or one of the comfy rooms in the historic main building. The hostel features a spa pool, internet cafe, 24-hour access, tour desk, indoor and outdoor communal areas and self-catering kitchen. During your outback experience you will be staying in an authentic farmhouse with kitchen, separate showers and toilets, lounge room with TV, three bedrooms and wide open verandas where you can relax after a hard day of work. Before you arrive: Be sure to apply for your working holiday visa at least 4 weeks before you are due to travel. The process is fast and easy so we see no need to charge you a hefty fee to do it for you!. When you arrive: You will be collected at the airport by a member of our in-country team and have a brief orientation of the city. Once you've settled in you'll get a full Sydney orientation covering all the details of living, travelling, working and partying in Australia.
