Intentional Eco-community in South-West France
France
Durations of Program: 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks, 9-12 weeks, 3-6 months, 7-12 months and 1-2 years
Typical Duration of Program: 5-8 weeks
Dates: immediate and for the rest of this year
Description:
There's plenty of work to be done both inside and outside, so to suit all tastes and weathers. Typically tasks are : gardening in the organic garden; building and painting in the factory in conversion to be a training/seminaire centre; woodland management. Any specialised skills in electricity and renewable energies particularly welcome, especially for the final phase of getting the water turbine (already restored and working) connected to the electrical system.
Highlights:
- Living on the outskirts of a small French village near Carcassonne, Toulouse, Narbonne and, of course, Spain. - The best highlight of this programme is the openness to meeting different people. - As a trainer certified by the Centre of Nonviolent Communication, we are willing to offer courses to help volunteers get the most out of the way they use words!
Qualifications:
No qualifications other than a willingness and initiative to help out using existing skills and learning new skills. There is little supervision, lots of choice, so this place tends to suit people who are motivated to get the most out of the time they spend here. Some interest in Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is welcome and not a prerequisite!
