Description:
Volunteer in the heart of Central America at Cofradia´s Bilingual School. Cofradia´s Bilingual School provides an affordable bilingual education to children ages 4-12 and accepts qualified students regardless of financial or social status. We are seeking progressive minds to provide summer support for the upcoming 2009-2010 aacademic year. Use your field of study or skills to help is with basic carpentry, painting, recruitment, marketing/advertising, fund raising, etc. Room and supplies provided. We ask for a $100 donation to the school per 2 week stay. Volunteers welcome for floating start dates. We welcome any additional donations for the school and 100% of the tax deductable donations are sent directly to the school via Hope For Tomorrow.
Highlights:
Our volunteers, get a chance to live the adventure of a real immersion experience in Central American life and culture while providing a quality Global Education to the students at the school and a culturally broadening experience to the rest of the local community. The international make-up of the team means we always maintain a real multi-cultural perspective in everything we do.

Cofradia's Bilingual School's Mission Statement: Finding ways to make quality education a self sustaining enterprise in order to be able to offer poor children in developing countries a real opportunity to learn their own way out of poverty. We offer a Global Education to over 300 children and an incredible learning adventure to our annual team of International volunteer teachers. We bring a multi-cultural group of teachers together in a concentrated and mutual effort to help children some of the worlds least fortunate children, learn the skills that may help them make the difficult changes that will need to be made if they are to live in a world where equal opportunity and social justice are any more than slogans on political campaign posters.
