Teach in the South Pacific
Micronesia
Term: Fall, Spring
Duration of Program: 9-12 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 9-12 weeks
Dates: Feb - May and Sept - Dec
Description:
Semester of teaching and cultural immersion on a remote atoll in Micronesia. Interns assist teachers in small island schools for 3 months and live with homestay families. Teaching is in English, but Chuukese is spoken in the home. As Micronesian schools are desperately understaffed and deficient in good English language instruction, this is a great chance to make a real contribution. Highlights:
Total cultural immersion in the island life of the South Pacific. Gain teaching experience while assisting the local community.
