Description:
Emmaus Summer Volunteering is an opportunity to (re)find the true meaning of sharing and solidarity within communities where we can commit ourselves in the long term. Volunteers are asked to stay a minimum of 8 days, but are encouraged to stay longer in order to experience all aspects of the association, to participate in its solidarity actions, development projects and cultural events. Day to day tasks involve the restoration and reselling of donated goods. The fruits of the community's actions contribute to the development of the association and to finance solidarity actions destined to people in difficulty.
Highlights:
The program brings together people from all over the world to discover what Emmaus is about. Volunteers are able to explore the area, meet new people, particpate in the organisation of cultural events such as festivals, concerts and debates. Due the association's diversity, it provides inter-cultural exchanges and a great opportunity to increase cultural awareness. For language students, the volunteer scheme is a great way to meet with others and practice speaking and even debating in French.
