Isla offers a unique opportunity to live, learn, and serve in Ghana with a local host organization whose mission is to create a community-based center for HIV/AIDs orphans. Isla seeks individuals with an interest and background in business, social enterprise, and/or apparel design and merchandising to assist with the creation of a small social and sustainable enterprise whose mission is produce, market, and sell a line of clothing locally and internationally to benefit the HIV/AIDs orphan project. In order to secure a locally operated, sustainable business, local villagers need assistance with a business plan and business skills training so that they can manage the operations on their own instead of depending on external aid. In addition to business development, there is an excellent opportunity for a design and merchandising intern to provide business, design, merchandising, and sewing training to local villagers.
