Volunteer Abroad in Thailand

  Thailand

Durations of Program: 1-2 weeks, 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks, 9-12 weeks, 3-6 months and 7-12 months

Description: United Planet (UP) offers one to 12 week volunteer abroad Quests in Ranong, Thailand. Thailand is a hot travel destination, owing in large part to the spice and variety of its food, people and beautiful landscape. Volunteer placements are at local schools serving both Thai children and Burmese refugees in the Ranong province, bordering Burma on the Andaman Coast. Program fee includes meals, lodging, training, in-country orientation, Thai lessons, excursions and insurance.

The purpose of this Quest is to promote a deeper level of cultural exchange and understanding through meaningful volunteer work, social activities with the local community, and excursions. United Planet is working currently with different volunteer opportunities in partnership with local organizations in Ranong, Thailand.

United Planet is a member of The Brookings Institution Building Bridges Coalition and was selected by CNN as one of only ten organizations for its "Be the Change" initiative in 2008.
