Rural Areas

Durations of Program: 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks, 9-12 weeks and 3-6 months
Dates: Any Sunday of any month.

Description: Work in very rural areas of Ghana (the true Africa). There is a wide range of project work available in Ghana to suit your interests and background. Choose from teaching, medical and healthcare projects, HIV/AIDS awareness and education, orphanage volunteer work or other non-governmental organisations. Other projects include construction and sanitation.

During your volunteer placement, you will receive a full orientation upon arrival to prepare you for your stay and then absorb the Ghanaian way of life by living amongst the local families and helping to develop and support their valuable communities.

What's Not Included in the Programme Price
- Personal travel insurance for the duration of your placement, which should include cover for repatriation
- Return transfer from your project to the airport
- All lunch and dinner during your orientation
- Some lunches during your project
- All flights
- Visas which you need before travel to Ghana
- Use of local transport
- All items of a personal nature, such as curios, gifts, clothing (work and other)
- E-mail/Internet and telephone calls
- Soft drinks, wines and spirits
- Any excursions over and above your planned itinerary in Ghana
