Dates: Second and fourth Saturday of each month.
Description:
You will be volunteering in a day centre located in the Pavão-Pavãozinho favelas of Rio de Janeiro. The centre is dedicated to providing health care and education to local impoverished families, who are trapped in a depressing cycle of poverty, deprived of education, and unemployment. The aim is to break the cycle by teaching English classes, tutoring students, and helping to arrange and engage in leisure activities with the children. The outreach project currently provides help for over 400 children, and medical support for over 1500 families. This is an amazing opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of some of Brazil's most underprivileged children.
