Description: Make a difference in the world; explore Monte Alban and the Ancient Ruins of Mexico during your Summer Break. Join us in picturesque UNESCO world heritage site of Oaxaca for an unforgettable and rewarding experience.

ProMexico and Jacksonville University's program combines classroom and in the field study of Mexico's culture, geography, and history, immersive Spanish, a hands-on community service development project, cross cultural interaction and homestay living, and exploration of Mexico.

Programs are highly supported by an onsite staff team and welcoming community partners. ProWorld, founded in 1998, is a true leader in the fields of study abroad and international development.

Community development projects, field work, and adventure activities complement classes, creating an integrated program understanding and a rewarding study abroad experience.

Excursions include: weekly adventure and cultural activities, tour of the Yagul and Mitla Zapotec ruins, community cultural events and natural hot springs expedition.

Watch the moon rise over the cathedral, see the temples at Monte Alban, and experience the cultural richness of Oaxaca. Adventures combined with cultural excursions and productive volunteer work form a comprehensive and unique summer experience.

Qualifications: All participants must have an adventurous spirit. The interests of participants and the needs of the local community determine development projects.

Program fees do not include: international airfare, passport or visa fees, textbooks, insurance, independent travel during the program, or personal expenses. Program fees may change without notice due to currency exchanges and the unique nature of international travel.
