Description:
Blue Nile Children's Organization's Medical Missions Project will organize groups of healthcare providers from the U.S. and Canada to travel to Addis Ababa. Motivated by the extremely poor access to healthcare in Ethiopia, Blue Nile Children's Organization is currently constructing the Richard Oslund Memorial Clinic, which will employ Ethiopian healthcare providers to provide primary care to Kolfe-Keranio Subcity of Addis Ababa, adjacent neighborhoods, and visitors from rural areas. The first trip will take place November 5-19, 2009 for the Grand Opening of the clinic, and smaller trips will be planned monthly throughout 2010.
Qualifications:
Those specializing in family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, emergency medicine, obstetrics & gynecology or infectious diseases are particularly encouraged to apply; however, we accept health care providers of nearly all specializations.

* to holistically involve and include the community as solution partners in prevention of conditions that lead to more orphans, such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other afflictions.
