Description:
Japan Center for Conflict Prevention maintains rolling application positions for international and national intern candidates. Interns need to have a strong ability in English, and assist with a range of tasks in the Tokyo head office. Duties and responsibilities depend on the interests and the skills of the intern and may include: * Supporting our overseas projects through research and analysis. * Liaising with partner organizations and academic institutions specializing in conflict prevention and peace building; * Attending and reporting on seminars and international conferences on peace building; * Developing English language content for our website and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
The Japan Center for Conflict Prevention (JCCP) offers internships in our Tokyo office to current and recently graduated students. A demonstrated interest in conflict prevention and peace building issues is required. Those with experience in this or a related field will be given preference. While not necessary, we also encourage applicants with: * language skills * IT skills * evidence of good inter-cultural understanding and knowledge of the work done by JCCP. * Some level of Japanese is also useful in order to facilitate communication with other staff, and to build a better understanding of the work we do. Salary / Pay: While we cannot offer a salary for our interns, we do offer to cover their travel expenses to the office while they are based in Tokyo. Please note that we cannot offer assistance with relocation or living costs.

Typical Volunteer: Typical volunteers have a background or interest in development, conflict prevention and peacebuilding, and can come from a range of degree backgrounds, or still be pursuing study. They have a high/native level of English language ability, excellent communication skills, are analytical, culturally aware, and are familiar with basic IT programmes such as Office.
