Volunteer Kindergarten Teacher, Position for 3 Months

Description:
We are looking for a voluntary teacher to teach a class of 15 children in between 2,5 and 6 years old on a tropical island about 10km of the coast in Mozambique. We work according to the Montessori System. Workhours are from 7 till 14h on weekdays (including lunch and naptime). The teacher will also do a weekly session teaching local adults basic English. We provide food, accommodation and pick-up from Pemba airport (Mozambique). Airfare, insurance, visacosts are for the account of the volunteer.

Qualifications:
Profile of the candidate: Diploma in Teaching/ Kindergarten teaching or similar qualification Students towards diploma welcome (possibility to write final project/thesis) Loves working with preschool age children Responsible person who is not afraid of challenges Flexibility and ability to improvise a must Interest in rural Africa/ different cultures/ open minded Job requirements: Teaching done in English, knowledge of Portuguese is a plus Familiarity with the Montessori system and willingness to be trained Able to handle a mixed group of circa 15 kids ages 2-5 Working from 7 to 14h including naptime and lunch. Afternoon and weekends at leisure on Ibo Island.
