Description: Atma Mumbai is an NGO who helps other NGOs to excel. Established NGOs face many day to-day problems and often have no one to turn to. They find themselves struggling for daily survival and they can only react instead of operate pro active within their external and internal environment.Atma Mumbai partners with NGO's, who are working in the field of education and children, to become sustainable and professional organizations. And therefore are able to positively change the lives of thousands underprivileged children in Mumbai.

Nareshwadi Learning Centre operates in rural India 130 km from Mumbai, comprising of a residential school, a vocational training institute, an agricultural unit and a health care centre. Nareshwadi children are from underprivileged families, aged 6-18 years. Ninety percent of them come from the Warli tribe, while the rest are orphans or from single-parent families from Mumbai area. The vision of Nareshwadi is to empower each child to reach their dream.

Volunteers are expected to commit three months minimum, no stipend will be provided.

Qualifications: Nareshwadi Residential is a school, in a rural area around 3 Hours from Mumbai. Currently a residential school for 450 students, over the academic school year summer break, around 30 children (unable to spend the holiday's with immediate or extended family for a variety of reasons), stay behind on campus during those holidays. Atma Mumbai is seeking creative and motivated volunteers to plan and execute a summer camp program for these children for two months from April June 2009. Providing a summer camp of fun and learning for around 30 children aged 7 to 14 in a rural residential school, just outside of Mumbai together with other volunteers.Working in a team, the two volunteers will be responsible for creating and executing the summer camp program on site. The summer camp will encompass a variety of activities for the children; teaching English, sport activities and games, overall giving the children who stay behind a well deserved holiday on site and with a small trip to Mumbai. The volunteers will need to be extremely motivated and willing to work autonomously in an isolated, rural Indian setting. Candidates with prior experience in handling programs with children, have a range of hobbies and interests and experience in English teaching will be looked upon favorably.

Atma Mumbai is also seeking a motivated person with experience in Human Resources or Organizational Development to work in a role to establish clear organizational structure, rules, roles and processes and thus help. Nareshwadi Learning Center to become an efficient, transparent and credible organization. The role primary involves understanding, conceptualizing and defining the structure of the organization and the needs required driving the organization to continue its work in the future.
