Turtle, Coral Reef and Tropical Rainforest Conservation Volunteer Programme in Perhentian

  Malaysia
    Rural

Durations of Program: 1-2 weeks, 2-4 weeks and 5-8 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Dates: Every 1st and third Tuesday - April to Sept

Description: Play your part in vital Green Turtle conservation whilst helping to survey coral reefs. Turtles in Malaysia are in grave danger and your role during the nightly patrols is vital. Help us to continue our good work by protecting nesting turtles from tourists and the turtle eggs from poachers. You will also get a chance to survey our coral reefs. The reports are used to devise future conservation action plans for our bay.

You can volunteer for 1, 2 or 4 weeks and each week builds on the previous week giving you a progressive experience.

Week 1 - Reef education
Week 2 - Rainforest education
Weeks3-4 - spread the knowledge you have gained in the first 2 weeks by helping to spread conservation awareness amonst the tourists and help by leading snorkel tours around the Perhentian Islands and guide forest walks showing the tourists flying lemurs, pythons and sea eagles to name a few.

Explore this tropical paradise from rainforest to reef whilst contributing to its conservation and of course help to save the turtles of Malaysia.
