- Multi-Country
    Locations Throughout the World

Durations of Program: 2-4 weeks, 5-8 weeks and 9-12 weeks
Typical Duration of Program: 2-4 weeks
Dates: inquire for specific dates or search the Open Projects Directory on the VFP Website

Description: VFP offers over 3000 affordable, short-term voluntary service projects in 100+ countries worldwide. These international voluntary service projects are an opportunity to participate in meaningful community service while living and interacting in an intercultural environment. Volunteer projects vary greatly since they arise wherever there is a need in a given community.

Work projects include: construction/renovation of low-income housing or community buildings, historic preservation, archeology; environmental projects such as trail building, environmental education, wildlife surveying, park maintenance, organic farming; social services working with children, the elderly, physically or mentally handicapped, refugees, minority groups, drug/alcohol recovery, AIDS education; as well as arts projects and festivals.

Most projects are limited to ages 18 and up, with over 250 programs for ages 15-17. 80% of our projects are scheduled from May through September and are of 2-3 weeks in duration. More than 600 programs are also offered in the 'off-season'. We also offer over 150 volunteer service-learning projects lasting from 3 months to 1 year in length for volunteers looking to make a longer commitment.

AA $300 per-project registration fee includes accommodation and food. There may be a small additional fee for projects in developing countries. Transportation is arranged and paid for by the volunteer. Please visit the Volunteers For Peace Website for additional information OR to search the Open Projects Directory.
