Description:
Job - creating positive living space for persons with HIV/AIDS getting a new start on life; by building and refurbishing dwellings in South Africa. Anir Experience is a USA based 501c3, 100% volunteer organization with program partners in Botswana, Madagascar, South Africa, Swaziland and Zambia. Anir wants to take a team of 10-15 persons to the township of Khayelitsha just outside of Cape Town South Africa, to work in partnership with Baphumelele located in Khayelitsha. We can build a house in 10 days or remodel 4-6 shanties in the same time period.
Highlights:
This is a small group experience for anyone who has always wanted to travel to Southern Africa but maybe not alone or who do not have a lot of time to volunteer. This is for folks who like sharing their travel experiences with others. In addition to working with a team, participants will also get to work with local community members. And for those who would like a full South African Experience we also offer a post build program photo safari for R&R. We are happy to connect new applicants with Anir Alumni who will be happy to tell you all about their Anir Experience.
Qualifications:
Wanted: * folks with a positive outlook on life * wanting to pay it forward and ready to volunteer No experience needed but experienced folks welcomed as well & you must be willing to learn and work hard at grunt work not looking for glamor but looking for a wonderful life changing experience able to go with flow want to support your team and also work with locals.

Typical Volunteer: Our volunteers come from all walks of life age range 16-80 (for this project participants must be at least 18 years old). We are non-sectarian and welcome all cultures although typically our volunteers come from the USA & Canada but we have also had participants from China and India and South Africa.
