Description:
These are exciting times for this well-established project. The project is growing and taking on new local staff and developing its range of services. We are looking for a project supervisor to continue this development. The orphans live with relatives in family compounds and mud huts scattered across a rural part of North West Cameroon. The project supervisor: -oversees local staff and international volunteers who carry out day-to-day activities as purchasing food from local shops and markets, taking the orphans for medical checks, arranging for their educational and clothing needs. -oversees that accounts and financial systems and liaises with the Western sponsors. -is also responsible for the growth and development of the project. Volunteers must pay all their own travel, accommodation and living costs. There are various options for accommodation, all of which are at local costs. The cost of living here is very low. Highlights:
This is enjoyable and rewarding work in beautiful surroundings that directly helps orphans and their extended families. Minimum of 4 months commitment. We are working towards a VSO placement by the end of this period.
Qualifications:
You will need to have experience or understanding of managing a project, supervising both volunteers and paid local staff, along with an understanding of basic book-keeping systems.
