Description: Spending Time with the Children:
The children are very much in need of some loving tender care. Spending time with the children is a main activity.

Teaching: You will help the staff in the preparation and teaching English at the center to the children for about 3 hours.

Sports and Games:
We want some fun at this center, so we thought about volunteers helping out with sports and games activities. Your ideas and input is welcome here!

Help to Learn:
The children are very willing to learn everything, setting up a small library or conducting arts activities will help.

Maintenance:
The orphanage is in need of financial support for building a decent school building, kitchen for lunch/games area. Together with you we hope to make changes, by painting the walls, making beds for the children, putting up klamboos, helping out in the garden. Your own ideas are more than welcome!

Happiness:
Bringing happiness in the lives of these children will change their future!

Daily Work:
Helping out with teaching English, playing games, helping the cook and serving lunch, arranging maintenance etc.

And more...... every day is so different, sometimes you need to help cleaning a cut and put on first aid. The next day you go to the market getting supplies....it's all the Cambodian easy style of living, every day is different. You can make a daytrip with the children, your own ideas are welcome, please discuss with the project coordinator.

In the morning the volunteers will start teaching from 9 am to 10.30 am and Afternoon from 1.30 pm to 3pm. The during the free times, volunteers can help to take care of 40 orphans in the shelter and play around with the kids.

You will be free on the weekends.

Highlights: These children's house in Phnom Penh is taking care of 40 children. All kids come from the surrounding slums on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. Next to the orphans about 140 children come to the center to get free education in the morning and the afternoon (2 groups). The parents are extremely poor and have to survive daily. They all have their own story and they are very happy that we can send volunteers to their orphanage so we can make a difference and make these children happy. When they are in our house they are in a different world, they can play, sing and forget about all the horrible things in their lives.

You can help us make a difference in these young lives. Cheer them up with games, creativity, teaching them English and about life. We are very happy with our new orphanage in Phnom Penh and PURE! hopes you want to join and help us!

Qualifications: Extra conditions to join this program:

* you must be at least 18 years
* you must be willing to work at least 2 weeks
* reasonable english level
* you are a teamplayer
* flexible
* independent
* enthusastic
* you are motivated to help these children
* special talents in building and construction is a pre but not needed!
* medical background is a pre but not needed!

Cost in US$: 4 weeks 1000 dollars

* Visa for entering Cambodia

* Extra costs for meals, transport, internet and souvenirs
* Excursions and trips in Cambodia

Typical Volunteer: To be a volunteer you need to be strong and willing to make something happen.
