Description:
Rural community health centers in Ghana acutely lack personnel due to the general unavailability of health workers in Ghana and also the refusal of health workers to be posted to rural areas. Because of this situation, rural community members in Ghana don't have access to quality health care. Rural dwellers especially the vulnerable ones (pregnant women, women, children) lose their lives due to illness that could have been easily cured. Also rural community health centers lack basic health delivery materials such as hospital beds and medicines putting facilities in very deprived status. As part of its effort to remedy this situation, VARA (Volunteers for Amelioraiton of Rural Areas) is making a vibrant appeal to health professionals as well as non professionals, volunteers, benevolents, philantropist and other good people to come to the aid of these dying rural community health centers. We call upon volunteers to come and work at these health centers. You can also send donations for health delivery materials.
