Description:
We are looking for volunteers with experience in plumbing to make repairs in our three centers. You need to be creative with the limited supplies, tools and resources Casa do Caminho possesses.
Highlights:
The volunteer program of Casa do Caminho provides a 100% free volunteer environment in which the volunteer has the opportunity to make a meaningful commitment to the project. All volunteers take on the responsibilities of full-time staff members, which requires hard work but also provides the opportunity to develop existing and new skills and take on leadership roles. Casa do Caminho also provides a unique cultural experience, as volunteers have the opportunity not only to get to know Brazilian culture but also to share their experience with fifteen other volunteers from all parts of the world.
Qualifications:
* Intermediate Portuguese skills
* 6 months - 2 years volunteer period
* Experience working with children and teenagers
* Minimum age: 21 years

Cost Include Description:
We charge no fees and offer volunteers: food, accommodation and airport escort.

Previous plumbing experience is required.
Typical Volunteer: Enthusiastic, motivated, flexible, patient, hard workers that love children and teens and helps out where necessary.

Comunidade Rural Casa do Caminho's Mission Statement: Casa do Caminho is an orphanage situated in the middle of the Tingua rainforest, outside of Rio de Janeiro. Casa do Caminho aims to take the children away from aggression, drugs & criminality in Rio de Janeiro and surrounding suburbs. In the orphanage Casa do Caminho provides children with shelter, health care, education and a lot of freedom to play!
