Description:
Volunteers are able to choose where they like to work according to their skills, professions and preference. We have positions in orphanage, schools, and hospitals or medicals centers. In Public Schools and Kindergarten: * Work such as assistant teacher * Teach a basic English class * Teach art like modern dancing, painting and music In orphanage and social programs: * Teach a basic English class * Teach art like modern dancing, painting and music. * Teach sports like football, volleyball, basquetball, chess, gymnastic, etc. * Gardening * Physiotherapy * Help the boys with their Mathematics, reading, history, English homework, etc. In hospitals and Medical Centers: * To put in practice your knowledge about medicine * Use your medical experience to assist in patient care.

Qualifications:
* It is open to people over 18 years for both sexes. * Time minimum is one month * Professionals and students * To be efficient, creative, dynamic, patient, and enthusiastic * The willingness to be part of an under-served community as you work with children, teenagers and elderly, in real situations of poverty * Applicable skills, adaptability and sympathy for the underserved communities * To be very responsible in their volunteering work * To work 60 hours per month * To participate in the Makikita's project * Respect the rules at residence and home stay. * For volunteers who want to work at hospitals and medical centers, you need to bring certificates that show they are professionals or students of some profession related to medicine

Makikita Quykuway Volunteer Program's Mission Statement: Makikita Quykuway means "Give me your Hand" in Quechua, the ancient language of the Incas. Guide by this principle our organization has brought together a network of community-minded professionals dedicated to improving the lives of the poor and underserved with the help of volunteers. Our professional experience has enlightened us to these people's needs and the adversity they face. Makikita Quykuway is a non-profit organization which works closely with the government institutions in Huancayo PerĂº.
Our mission is to improve the quality of life of the poorest people of our community by means of institutional support at orphanages, public schools, welfare houses, hospitals, and medical centers.
