Description:
We need to recruit teachers for the English Teaching Programme which will recommence after the summer holidays around the middle of March. We will be running an induction for the new intake of volunteers at the beginning of March so it would be useful for people to plan their arrival around this time if possible. There will be two hours of teaching per working day, with the remaining time used for planning lessons and also helping the children at the SKIP office. Ideally, we would like people to be able to commit to a three month stay in order to ensure we have enough teachers until the next intake of volunteers in June 2010, of course staying for longer than 3 months is no problem.
Highlights:
We ask for a contribution of USD 350 per month from volunteers who receive in return free accommodation and lunch. There is a gradual decrease in the fee for those staying longer than two months. One third of the charity's income relies on contributions from volunteers.
Qualifications:
A level of Spanish speaking ability would be of use although not essential. However prospective volunteers would be encouraged to learn as much Spanish as they can prior to arrival as it will enhance their volunteering experience.
