Description:
The Volunteer in Argentina Program provides the unique opportunity to live and work in Argentina. You'll experience first-hand its rich cultural diversity while cultivating a superior level of Spanish proficiency. Possible fields of interest include social work, education, tourism, cultural work and catering. While most of projects take place in Buenos Aires, there are also projects located outside of the city. The Spanish Language School The language school is located in Belgrano, one of the lovely residential neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. Small class sizes of no more than 6 students and an interactive teaching method that focuses on grammar, vocabulary, and conversational skills allow you to develop confidence in both the written and spoken language. After a placement test, you'll be placed in a class according to your level of Spanish - from beginner to superior levels.
Qualifications:
Applicants must: *Be at least 18 years of age *Preferably have some experience related to their chosen volunteer placement field(s) *Complete the language course before beginning their volunteer placements *Have at least an intermediate level of Spanish upon completion of the language course. * Meet the Argentina Visa requirements.

Scholarships are Available. The InterExchange Foundation's Working Abroad grant is open to individuals who have been accepted to an InterExchange Working Abroad program (excluding Language Schools with no volunteer component, Work & Travel Australia and Work & Travel New Zealand programs). Applicants who demonstrate a high level of commitment to their chosen Working Abroad program are eligible for funding to help defray the cost of their program.
* Award amount: $1500
* Application Deadline: 8 weeks prior to program start date
* Recipients of the grant will receive their award once their arrival abroad has been confirmed by the International Partner Organization
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
* U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents
* Between the ages of 18 and 28
* Accepted to their Working Abroad program of choice and have paid all relevant program fees
* Willing to submit a written report upon completion of their program

* Personal essay
* Supplemental Essay
* Two letters of recommendation from academic instructors and/or employers - signed and sealed
* Resume (1 page)
* Photocopy of valid U.S. passport or permanent resident card
