Description:
This is a position for a volunteer fieldworker to work in partnership with local paid staff supporting orphans and disadvantaged children and their foster families/caretakers. Each field worker supports 35 orphans/families and is responsible for delivering food supplements, taking care of medical needs and check ups, paying school fees and buying text books, annual clothes/shoe/school uniform shop, educating families on hygiene and nutrition and teaching 6 hours per week in the after school education programme. Helping local field worker with admin and writing reports to sponsors.
Highlights:
This is an extremely rewarding position which allows the volunteer to work and interact on a daily basis with the local community in the rural villages of the beautiful North West Cameroon. Volunteer fieldworkers work closely alongside paid local staff. Support and guidance is provided in a friendly environment by both local and international staff. This is an established project.
Qualifications:
No formal qualifications required although experience in social work, care work, teaching or youth work would be benefical.
