Meaningful Volunteer - Project Lifecycle - My Body My Time
Philippines
Durations of Program: 5-8 weeks, 9-12 weeks and 3-6 months
Description:
Project Lifecycle enables you to make a real and meaningful stand for women's rights. You'll get the chance to work with and form local women's groups and help market and promote our Lifecycle Necklaces. What are Lifecycle Necklaces? Lifecycle Necklaces are a 100% natural birth control method. The necklace has a small rubber ring that is moved around the necklace one day at a time. The rubber ring starts on the first day of the women's menstrual cycle. If the women has sex on the "white bead" days, then she will almost certainly not get pregnant. The Lifecycle Necklaces are 95% effective if used correctly. Lifecycle Necklaces help to reduce the average family size. The smaller family size you have, the more money you have for things such as food and education. Poverty goes down as family size goes down. By volunteering with Project Lifecycle you'll get to: * Make a real and meaningful standard for female human rights * Form women's groups in villages and teach them about the beads * Give talks to community groups * The Catholic Church supports the Lifecycle Beads and you'll have plenty of opportunities to talk to church groups * Work with families to discuss the necklaces and the process * Help market the necklaces
Highlights:
Make a stand for Women's right! Project Lifecycle makes use of Lifecycle Necklaces - that are coordinated with the women's menstrual cycle to find the safe times for pregnancy free sex. You'll have the opportunity to work with and empower local women, coordinate the making of the necklaces and look at ways to market the program and the necklaces.
